Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.
I had been meaning to read this book for a long time, but i kept hearing about how similar it was to Twilight. I really just didnt want to be dissapointed. It turns out i didnt need to worry. It wasnt like Twilight in many ways, and i was not dissapointed!
First off, Katy is a very relatable character. Im not just talking about the fact that she loves books and is a book blogger. She is not so sure of herself, yet she`s brave, she`s witty and intellegent, and she doesnt take anyone`s attitude!
While the male protagonist is a massive jerk, he seems to have quite a few layers. I loved him, I hated him. I made excuses for him. I expect lots from him in the next books!
Heads up my friends, the story gets a tad steamy. Passed kissing, yet not all the way. Just thought Id warn you. While I enjoyed it emencely…I had no warning. I know that a lot of younger kids are reading teen books, and I just want everyone to know what they`re/ their kids are heading into. Awesomeness!! plus a smidge of sexual content. 😉
This is a refreshing book! It is different in all the best ways. Just when you think the story is going to be predictable, BAM! You are taken to new places my friend!
