These stories were just creepy enough that I thought about it for days after I read it. It felt like dark fairy tales or old ghost stories passed on for years and years. The classics that just seem to get scarier every time you hear them. The illustrations were amazing! They definitely guided your imagination in an intentional direction.
I read this book in one sitting. It was a very short, very satisfying read, especially so close to Halloween! If I had to do it again, I might space it out and read one story a day for 5 days. Really enjoy each story. I was just too excited to read this one though. After the first story i just couldn’t put it down. Not for the faint of heart! Unless you are very brave and don’t get scared too easily… I would recommend this book to teens and up. This Canadian author really knows what she`s doing. Get the full effect and read this book with a flashlight in the dark. I dare you.
