In the first book in this fully-illustrated series, 8-year old Drake is snatched up by King Roland’s soldier and taken to the castle. He is to be trained as a Dragon Master. At the castle, he is joined by three other young Dragon Masters-in-training: Ana, Rori, and Bo. The Dragon Masters must learn how to connect with and train their dragons β and they must also uncover their dragons’ special powers. Does Drake have what it takes to be a Dragon Master? What is his dragon’s special power?
This book was a special treat. I originally picked it up because it is a branches book! I loved the others so much I had no doubt this one would be great. Dragons and magic are also very popular right now, so I wanted to see what the dragon books in this 6-8 age range were like.
Like other Branches books, Dragon Masters has nice big print, a compelling illustration on each page, and loveable relatable characters. Just what readers who are new to chapter books want! The plot is interesting, intriguing and very imaginative. It leaves you wanting more!
You’ll learn lessons about friendship and confidence without even knowing it! I can’t wait to read #2!
